Waiver of Liability, Assumption of Risk, and Indemnity Agreement
In consideration of being allowed to participate in any activities, events, or programs of the Greensboro Badminton Club (“GBC”), I, the undersigned participant, acknowledge, understand, and agree as follows:
Assumption of Risk

1. I understand that participation in sports and recreational activities, including badminton, involves inherent risks of injury, including but not limited to slips and falls, collisions with other participants, being struck by a shuttlecock or racket, overexertion, and equipment or facility hazards.

2. I voluntarily assume all risks of injury, illness, death, or property damage arising out of or related to my participation in GBC activities, whether occurring before, during, or after such activities and whether on or off the premises where GBC activities take place.
Released Parties

3. For purposes of this Agreement, the term “Released Parties” means:
- Greensboro Badminton Club (GBC);
- its officers, directors, organizers, members, coaches, and volunteers;
- all event sponsors and organizers; and
- the owners, managers, and operators of any facility or premises where GBC activities occur, and all of their respective officers, directors, employees, agents, and representatives.
Release and Waiver of Liability

4. I hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue any of the Released Parties from any and all claims, demands, actions, causes of action, damages, or liabilities of any kind, whether known or unknown, in law or in equity, arising out of or related to my participation in GBC activities or my presence at any facility or premises where such activities occur.

5. This release includes, without limitation, claims for personal injury, death, or property damage alleged to be caused in whole or in part by the negligence of any of the Released Parties, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law.
Indemnification and Hold Harmless

6. I agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Released Parties from and against any and all claims, demands, actions, causes of action, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) brought by me, my family members, my guests, or any third party arising out of or related to:
- my participation in GBC activities;
- my use of any facility, equipment, or premises in connection with GBC; or
- my breach of any GBC rules, regulations, or this Agreement,
except to the limited extent such obligations are prohibited by applicable law.
Rules and Code of Conduct

7. I have read and agree to abide by all GBC rules, regulations, and codes of conduct as posted on the GBC website or otherwise communicated by GBC, including the “Club Rules & Regulations.” I understand that failure to follow such rules may result in suspension or termination of my participation without refund.
Medical Treatment and Insurance

8. I consent to receive any emergency medical treatment deemed necessary during my participation in GBC activities and agree that I am responsible for all associated costs.

9. I understand that the Released Parties do not provide health or accident insurance for participants and that it is my responsibility to maintain such coverage.
Acknowledgment of Understanding

10. I am at least 18 years of age and legally competent to sign this Agreement, or I am the parent/legal guardian of the minor participant named below.

11. I have carefully read this Waiver of Liability, Assumption of Risk, and Indemnity Agreement, fully understand its terms, and understand that I am giving up substantial legal rights. I acknowledge that I am signing this Agreement freely and voluntarily and intend it to be a complete and unconditional release of liability to the fullest extent permitted by law.
