GBC Training and Player Development

 

Ready to smash your fitness goals? Whether you’re a total beginner or looking to sharpen your competitive edge, the Greensboro Badminton Club (GBC) Training Program is designed for you. We combine professional coaching with a fun, inclusive community to help you master the fastest racket sport in the world.​​

Our Programs

We offer structured pathways for every age and skill level. Our certified coaches focus on fundamentals, tactical development, and match play.

  • Kids (6–12): Fundamentals, coordination, and fun drills

  • Teens (12–18): Technique refinement and match play

  • Adults (18+): Skill improvement, fitness, and competition

Training Levels

  • Beginner: Building the foundation (grip, footwork, and basic hits).

  • Intermediate: Refining technique and introducing match strategies.

  • Advanced: High-intensity drills and competition readiness.

Schedule & Formats

Our next sessions kick off on May 2026!

One session per participant per week

  • Wednesday Evenings  (1.5 hours).

  • Friday Evenings (1.5 hours).

Fees (Introductory Rate)

Full Program (10-12 Sessions)

  • Standard Fee (Non-Member): $300

  • GBC Member / First Child or Spouse: $275

  • Additional Sibling (Non-Member): $275

  • GBC Member Additional Kids: $250

Special Program (5-6 Sessions)

  • Standard Fee (Non-Member): $150

  • GBC Member / First Child or Spouse: $135

  • Additional Sibling (Non-Member): $135

  • GBC Member Additional Kids: $120

Equipment 

  • Shuttles: We provide high-quality plastic and practice grade feather shuttles.

  • Rackets: Participants are required to bring their own rackets.

  • Footwear: Non-marking court shoes are mandatory for safety and floor protection.

Health and Safety

  • Supervision: To ensure a safe environment, parents/guardians of kids under 16 must remain on-site during training.

  • Health: Please disclose any health concerns or physical limitations on the registration form.

  • A session is 1.5 hour duration: Include warm up, lessons and drills/practice.

Payments

  • Introductory Rate: $150 for 5 Session Program (check training webpage discounts for GBC members and additional family member)

  • Please note that we are unable to accept cash payments.

  • All payments must be made via the GBC Payment Link, which you will receive via email no later than one week before the program start date.
